From Tuesday 19 June - Friday 22 Jun 2007, Singapore held the largest Computer Conference in the whole of Asia at Singapore Expo. More than 3,000 computer graphics experts and fans from around the world will gather in Singapore for this CG Overdrive. The event, part of Communic-and-Broadcast-Asia, is one of Asia's largest dedicated to art in the digital format.
300 short films using computer graphics, or CG, which have been sent to the organisers, will be judged on Friday at the close of the exhibition.
There will also be a massive recruitment drive for those with the talent for producing such CG films.
"Regionally, there's a lot of demand for CG artists in the various pipelines, be it in the technical part of the pipeline or the artistic part of the pipeline, there [is a] marked shortage of people," says Lai Kok Sen, Organiser of CG Overdrive 2007 and founder of 3DSense Media School.
It seems there is no shortage of interest this year - organisers expect larger crowds, with the introduction of workshops.
"With the industry rising and more vested interest from the government and the interest of the people, more and more people are keen on the art form and the production techniques on computer graphics, simply because it forms a big part of the broadcast itself," says Mr Lai.
The global market for CG-related work is growing exponentially - already, there are over 1,000 CG professionals in Singapore's digital media industry. - Source: Channel News Asia
This is the second year running and the members of the Imaginary Friends Studios were there. They had set up a booth to sell their items and most importantly to launch their second artbook: PRIME!!
The Imaginary Friends Studio is one of the top studios that most artists would like to join. I like their culture, I think its fantastic! They have such an strong passion to produce excellent and beautiful artworks. I want that knind of spirit build inside me as well. To add on to that, you have many brilliant illustrators working along side and exchanging tips with each other. All the while, as you work till late at night and actually doing something you love!
Isn't that great?! :D
They are many brilliant concept artists in IFs, I shall just name a few.

Directed by the noted director Nobuhiro Doi, he directed some phenomenally popular television dramas which includes "GOOD LUCK!!" and "Beautiful Life" (the latter holds the record for the highest-rating TV drama episode broadcast in Japan since the 1990s).
Ima, ai ni yukimasu (Be With You), is another heart-warming and tears dropping drama. The movie was adapted to sceen by Yoshikazu Okada from a novel of Takuji Ichikawa.
Widower Takumi (Shidou Nakamura) lives a quiet life with his six-year-old son Yuji (Akashi Takei) after the loss of wife and mother Mio (Yuko Takeuchi). Yuji unfailingly remembers her promise to him: "I'll be with you again in a year's time, when the rains come." On the first anniversary of her passing, Takumi and Yuji are taking a walk in the woods when they come across a woman sheltering from a monsoon downpour. She bears an uncanny resemblance to Mio, but has no recollection of who she is or what she is doing there. Family life resumes from where they left off, while Takumi and Mio's memories of their first encounter in high school come flooding back.
She asks Taku how they met and fell in love, and he recounts a tale of years of missed chances starting in high school until she encouraged their marriage years later.
However, Mio's old diary, which reveals the secrets of her past and how they must say goodbye once more in six weeks time...
A wonderful drama worthy to watched! =) Again, the music played in this movie plays apart. The 3 songs suit the movie very well. Do check out Orange Range's Hana MV below!

I've decided to start exploring CG, partly due to my involvement with Mangaka.sg. I'm submitting two artworks. I've not post them up but soon they will be available for all to see. :)
I've added a bit on the background.
Now..Something about myself, I'm very happy with what I'm doing in the areas of art:
1) Recently, I get to meet a couple of digital artists from my Church. I shall hope to learn from them and at the same time contribute as much as I can to their group. :D
2)I've notice a change in my drawings, especially, my most recent works; which I'll be submitting to Mangaka.sg. They are more detailed and less frigid. I think it's a good thing to see. Of course, like what I said, I'll post them soon. :)
Alright, enough the talk. :D
