Illustrations for Children's Church - 29th September 2013

Latest work for Children's Church.  I'm always very excited whenever i've got the opportunity to create something for Children's Church. It's such a blessing.

The story is about how a man who had a beautiful family, did not learn to appreciate what he had. Instead, he neglected his family and went overseas for pleasure and try to earn quick buck. As a result, he lost everything and was sent to jail While he served his sentence, he felt remorseful and dreamed of uniting with his wife again.

The style of the drawing was simple, however due to lack of time I couldn't create much background. Overall, I felt the essence of the story was pretty well portrayed.

365 Days of Sketches: Number #136

Tools: Photoshop CS4, Pencil for drawings, Ball Point Pen for inking.

There was a day if I can recalled correctly; while I was attending a session on how children paint. The speaker says while adults naturally think that the sky is blue, it may not be so for children. For the children, the sky or trees maybe yellow, brown, orange, etc. To the children, the colors doesn't restrict their creativity. Anyay, it is also true that the sky only appears blue for some time of the day.

I thought I use the same approach with the hair in this image. Although, naturally, people nowadays love to dye their hair streaks or pure solid. I believe one day some innovative person will invent a way to allow people print/dye patterns on their hair. Well, you never know, that could be some awesome trend!

If you have an idea, find a way to make it come to pass.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~ Mark Twain

Illustrations for Children's Church - 31st August

Hi Everyone!

September is here! One year is quickly ending. Sometimes, you look back and wonder whether have you done anything worthwhile. I'm sure you have. It must have been something meaningful. Something that is not neccesary life changing, but nonethless essential for you to progress in life. If so, keep doing it until ou've reach the finishing line.

Below are some of the artwork I did for Children's Church this week. They are meant to be simple without going into too much details.
